Rant 3:Pixel Hugger HatredPixel hugger was a term first coined by, I believe, by one of my fellow Nexonians. It is a term that refers to those who are willing to do practically anything in an attempt to acquire themselves a precious trophy. These people do not care for the game or any possible consequences of their actions so long as they get a pretty score next to their name. These players represent the lowest common denominator as there is almost no limit to what they can and will do for points all for a trophy or score that has no real value. If you could cash it in for money maybe I could see the logic behind it, but all these shenanigans which equates to a shiny gold sticker? (Actually, the shiny sticker is probably worth more as it is tangible, but still only kindergartners fight over stickers) The sheer bullshit of it astounds me.
I’m on a trophy runIf you use this line I would like to punch you in the head. For starters, everyone is on a trophy run. The moment you enter a ranked or competitive game and get yourself some points you are automatically in a trophy run, no two ways about it. Second of all the fact that you’re ‘on a trophy run’ should have absolutely no bearing on the game whatsoever, using this as a way to garner sympathy and make someone throw the game in your favour is cheap and dirty. No real mafia player would use this line. Cheaters and point whoresYou’re idiots. Why? Why is a bunch of meaningless code on a website so important to you? It has no intrinsic value nor does it make anyone like or respect you. So again, why? GTFO and go get a life, or simply die in a fire. I care not for which.
My friend needs pointsIf you can’t bare to shoot or lynch a friend then this is not the game for you. This game is about finding who the mafia are or surviving to the best of your ability, not about skating through on the basis on who is in the game. There have been numerous games thrown on account of players not wanting to lynch friends. One example was of someone throwing away the towns victory so their friend LaurieRose could win and still be in the running for a trophy. Again, friendships should have no bloody impact on the game. You do not refuse to vote mafia because they are best buddies of yours, nor do you refuse to shoot PR’s as mafia because you don’t want to night kill friends. If you do this or expect friends of yours to make you win the game then get the hell of this site you useless waste of meat. Go find some site where holding hands and singing kumbaya is acceptable. The Sad ones: I can make references too(The title here was a slight poke at Teksura, feel free to ignore it) The truely pathetic of players fit this title, those willing to do what's listed above, plus other fiendish acts such as manipulating newbs as to how roles and points work, how jointing does/doesn't work and so forth. Threats of karma bombing is not unheard of, but what bothers me more is those who act as if they are such nice people but use cheap lines of "you can neg me if I'm mafia" in order to achieve a win. More bothersome is that some people actually use this as a valid way of clearing someone. Just because you say you can be negged if mafia does not make you clear, nor should you be allowed to use it as valid defence. If you use this line I will neg you just for uttering it. ConclusionThere's not much more I can add without this seeming like a carbon copy of Tek's, so I'll leave it at this: Karma, friendships and trophy runs should have no impact on a game and should not even be mentioned during one. If you are a person who uses these things to guide your actions then you are a part of the cancer that is killing the game and should find some other activity to pass the time. Stop wasting ours.
