What is good about the Amnesiac is that he can choose his alliance, and become investigative roles that have died such as a Cop or Tracker.

On the other hand, he can bolster the Mafia's strength. Games with Amnesiacs can often be decided by the Amnesiac's choice. Be aware that the Amnesiac is an extremely vulnerable role before he chooses a side, if you haven't used your power before you die or before the game is over, then you will not receive any points.

Abilities

Can become any role that is in the graveyard, regardless of their side. (Only after someone has died, cannot take a suicided or veggied role)

The Drunk and Hooker are not able to prevent the Amnesiac from taking on a role.

Shrink, however, can prevent him.

Strategies and Tactics

* Town Sided

• • Choose the Janitor target to help town know if all claims are real.
  • Choose any dead power role, especially investigative ones.

* Mafia Sided

• • Picking the Yakuza is especially powerful.
  • The Hooker isn't bad either.
  • Picking godfather after you have already been cleared once isn't bad.
  • Siding with mafia then claiming bulletproof in a game where a vigilante is still alive isn't a good idea, as town could ask the vigilante to shoot you to see if you really are a bulletproof.

* Other tactics

• • Choosing Fool and surprising the town.
  • If the entire cult is dead, you can still form a new cult by choosing a Cultist.
  • Amnesiac can be tracked by tracker to the dead that they take, so if you claim Amnesiac, and get tracked, you will be able to say that you took what ever role you did and have proof of it. If you get caught taking a mafia role, it may be your only option to claim Mortician which are the only other role able to choose a dead role to visit.
  • Contrary to popular belief, Amnesiacs CAN choose amnesiac if one has died. They will still retain their power to turn into another role.
  • Picking the Killer when there is also a dead Vigilante. No one can ever verify which one you really are without killing you. Best to do this when Town are not able to lynch you to check.
  • If the Amnesiac is revealed by the Oracle, he will continue to appear as an Amnesiac, even after choosing another role. (Test game: http://www.epicmafia.com/game/726780).
  • If the Amnesiac chooses a dead Lyncher he will get a new, randomly generated target. (Test game: http://www.epicmafia.com/game/726818)
  • As Amnesiac, you are by default neither Town-sided nor Mafia-sided. Therefore, choose the dead player with the role that most appeals to you. In more serious situations, choose the role that will more easily contribute to a win by either the town or the mafia, since you will win as well.

Cannot successfully pick the Baker Resolved. As of EM 3.0, the Amnesiac can take baker and famine will end. If someone who has been disguised is in the graveyard, then Amnesiac can see their real name, but cannot take their role until the disgusier is dead

• If an Amnesiac takes on the role of an Insane Cop and dies, his death message will show as "The Insane" thereby Sanity Checking the Sane Cops
